For the past seven years I have been a counselor at Camp Rap-A-Hope. Camp is a place for children ages 7-17 who have been diagnosed with cancer. Camp allows these children to come together for a week and forget about cancer. They ride horses, swim in the lake, create arts and crafts, take on the ropes course, and dance the night away. Working at camp is easily the highlight of my year. The moment the campers arrive the fun starts. Each year we have a theme for the week (Olympics, Disney, Decades). One year we had the circus come and teach the campers how to juggle and do acrobatics. At the end of the week the campers put on their own circus performance. Camp is 100% free to the kids. The cost of cancer has already been enough. It costs $500 to send a kid to camp for the week. Please help us "Bring Home the Bacon!
