Help us continue to operate during this time of need.
Every day, our committed volunteers work to support the community we serve. Now, we need your help. Second Chances is committed to being there for our community: both the people and animals. Just because of the coronavirus crisis, does not mean that animals don't need us. They continue to be cut from trees, hit by cars, poisoned, run over by lawn equipment, attacked by outdoor pets. Wildlife babies are orphaned every single day. What is their fate if we do not help? Death.
We are down 1/4 of our entire volunteer team. That is tough and a scheduling nightmare considering that most of our team work full time jobs and already dedicate their free time, yet we have asked more of them to make up for the ones not with us due to the pandemic. We have lost 3 months of income (and counting!) due to education program cancellations. Many grantors are only supporting health care initiatives. We have had to cancel our two big fundraisers. In January, we hired our very first part time employee and we are committed to keeping her despite our hardships. We have stepped up and offered free virtual classes online. We have taken in the same number of patients as a fully-staffed and funded year. We can not continue this without your support, however.
We kindly ask that you support our efforts as we continue to remain open for you...for our native wildlife that needs us. Your gift will help provide immediate financial support so we can purchase food, formula, medicines, and cleaning supplies (which are just down right hard to come by these days! ). Help us to continue to save lives.
