Why I'm Crowdrising for Wilderness Torah:
When I moved to the Bay Area 8 years ago, I knew I was seeking a spiritual community that would embrace the multi-faceted expression of Judaism that I felt was a part of my identity. Part Jew Bu, part descendent of a Protestant Norwegian Grandmother, and also part descendent of 3 other Jewish Grandparents who didn't teach me a lot of what it meant to be Jewish.
I wanted a way to connect with Judaism that was pluralistic, that was engaging, and where I would also meet like-minded spiritual community that not only wanted to be culturally Jewish...but also connect with prayer, meaning-making, and embracing a new model for expressing Jewish in the 21st century.
I have found ALL of that and more through Wilderness Torah. For the past 4 years of my life, Wilderness Torah has been my core community, where I have learned key pillars about the kind of person I want to be in the world, and the way I want to connect with Judaism, with nature, with "God"...and with humanity. Some of my very best friends are also those who I met through Wilderness Torah. So many of my profound experiences of connection with Spirit have been those guided by Wilderness Torah teachers and mentors.
As many of you know, I also now work for Wilderness Torah as the Manager of Marketing. So this is also my way of giving back to the place that gives me a sense of purpose, and supports my sense of security in the world.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Your donation not only supports me, but thousands of youth, young adults, elders and parents who are seeking a this same form of connection and meaning in their lives.
I hope you will also have the chance to experience, with me, the magic of Wilderness Torah.
