Chikumbuso School, Lusaka, Zambia At our community center, located in Ng'ombe, we run a school for 350 students. In addition to a free education, these students are given a highly nutritious lunch (sometimes their only meal of the day). Many of the most vulnerable are also sponsored and receive monthly food allotments to be taken home. Our school is filled to bursting, with a library, computer class, Internet access, a playground, a community garden, and classrooms from kindergarten through seventh grade. Our children are highly successful thanks to this education, in fact, a Chikumbuso graduate scored the highest grade in the nation on his national placement exams and was recognized by the President of Zambia. Our students are also consistently in the top 20% of their classes when they move on to high school, and many are now moving into higher education. Given the extreme hurdles they must overcome, we are justifiably proud of the education and commitment our school represents.
