The James Logan Colts have been working tirelessly since last December and the work has paid off by recapturing the MVAL Championship and earning a spot in the NCS playoffs. This is the first championship since 2011. In an effort to keep the Logan Football Tradition alive and well, several alumni have come together and founded the James Logan High School Football Alumni Association (JLHSFAA), a federally recognized (501(c)3) not for profit charitable organization. We are kicking off our first fundraising activity for two main purposes. First, the association has start-up costs including legal fees, building a website, promotional materials, seed money for our upcoming events including a kids' football camp (The Papa Steve (Edwards) Football Fundamentals Camp). Secondly, the football team is looking for alumni support to keep their game schedule competitive. The head coach’s vision for the football program is to create the most competitive schedule so the team can compete with the highest-ranked teams in the state. For now, though, let’s set all that aside and look at what we are really trying to accomplish.
The alumni of any long-lasting successful high school athletic team are the foundation for the program to thrive. Our purpose, as the JLHSFAA, is to reconnect the alumni and collectively provide the financial support for the program. We are looking to raise funds through individual contributions, hosting fundraising events, and creating programs that help the community and raise money. We currently need some capital to get some of the basic structures of the organization in place. Can you help us by donating $50 or $100? Whatever amount you are able to contribute would be greatly appreciated and go towards a worthy cause.
All contributions go towards our legally designated beneficiary, the James Logan High School Football Program. We will provide a donation letter at the end of the campaign to everyone who contributes to be used to offset set your tax liability.
Also, please consider sharing this link with others you think may be able to help including former teammates, other charities/ foundations, any businesses that value high school sports.
