The first weekend in March I will be skiing in the WinterKids Downhill24, with my teammates from WEX, for the 3rd straight year.
The Downhill24 is an annual 24 hour ski event held at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine as a primary fundraiser for WinterKids. It is both a skiing and fundraising team competition.
WinterKids is a Maine based, non-profit, organization that focuses on getting kids active and outside during the cold, winter months in Maine. When I was growing up my family took advantage of this program to get my brother and me out on the slopes; which certainly helped grow my passion for the sport of skiing at a young age. You can now find me taking any chance available to drive up to the mountain, even if it's just for a few runs in the afternoon.
I am grateful that I am now able to give my time and efforts back to such an amazing organization.
If you could make a donation to support WinterKids and me, while I ski for 24 hours straight, it would be greatly appreciated.
