2020 was a difficult year for everyone including community theatre. It was the first year in which Westside Players had to cancel a show in its 35 year history. While we were sad to break our streak of providing entertainment to Pocatello we also needed to comply with state and local health authorities. We tried re-opening but our audience just wasn't ready to return yet. Then a spike in infections and a second shut down request. Now going into 2021 we feel it best to remain closed until it is absolutely safe to do so. Unfortunately, it cost approx $1200 per month just to keep the utlities on in our building. So we are asking for anything up to $15,000 to cover a year of utility costs. This will allow us to comfortably re-open once we can do so. As a 501(c)3 non-profit all of our operating revnue comes from ticket sales, grants, and donors. Without ticket sales we have lost around 80% of our operating capital.
