When I started working for the gynecologic-oncology program at Westchester Medical Center, I saw how precious life was and how easily it can change. I began running to enjoy its benefits: losing weight, gaining muscle and clearing my mind. My next journey: The TCS New York City Marathon! I run not for myself, but for patients who come to Westchester Medical Center and can’t run for themselves. Moving over to work at the AIDS Care Clinic inspired me to run on behalf of the thousands taken by this disease before their time. I wholeheartedly believe in Westchester Medical Center’s mission. Last year, I cheered WMCHealth runners during the Marathon including my co-worker Sandi who inspired me to run for all of the patients who can run for themselves. Watching her raise money and make a difference in the community was the push I needed to run for others. I’ve successfully run four half-marathons and I’m sure I can conquer New York City! I am excited to represent Westchester Medical Center and WMCHealth in the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon. I am going the distance for our patients.
