Story

Our story:

The West Woods Fun Run is back, but this year the PTA is running the event on our own for a lower pressure, but still super fun, fundraising event.  Our theme this year is Kindness and our students will be given daily challenges each morning to spread kindness at home and at school.

All net proceeds of the Fun Run go to the West Woods PTA and help to pay for our enrichment programs which includes grade level grants, specials classroom grants, field trips, and school wide assemblies!

The Basics:

This year our goal is $12,000! We challenge each student to raise $40 or to get 5 sponsors!  Each class will also set a fitness goal of either a number of laps or a number of miles they are challenging each other to run.

The Prizes:

Students who receive at least $5 in pledges will receive a Kindness Mission Card.

Students who receive at least $25 in pledges will receive a West Woods School silicone band.

Students will also be entered into a daily drawing for receiving pledges on the previous day.  This will allow every child an opportunity to win a prize regardless of the size of the pledges received.

Teachers will be setting reward milestones for their classes for 45%, 60%, 75% and 90% of the class receiving at least one pledge.  The classes will be able to earn prizes as a team like Pajama Day or extra recess.

The class with the highest level of participation will win a class prize of books or board games for their class! One class each in the Lower Division (K to 3) and one in the Upper Division (4 to 6) will win. The fine print: The class with the most students participating (not individual donors or amount raised) will qualify as the winner.

Additionally, if we reach the $12,000 goal as a school, Mr. Levy has agreed to be silly stringed at the Fun Run!
