Werku Golle is an Ethiopian born again Christian pastor, evangelist, church planter, teacher, and preacher. He has a Brain Tumor which needs surgery. Because he does not have medical insurance, funds need to be paid before his surgery can begin. July 2 is the deadilne for an intial amount of $60,000 to be deposited for the surgery to go forward.
WHO IS WERKU GOLLE?
He placed his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young man. His life was radically changed and he was called by God to take the Good News of the Gospel to the Gedeo people in southern Ethiopia.
In the years since his conversion, Werku has led thousands to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was imprisoned by the Communists as a young man, husband and father. He was promised his release if he would but renounce Christ. Never! He said. His imprisonment latest almost 2 years. During that time the saving message of Jesus Christ spread rapidly among the Gedeo people. Once released, Werku and the Elders of his church raised funds to purchase the very prision that once held them. The church grew and a bible college was started to train men and women. Once trained these men and women desired to follow the call of Jesus to plant churches. Werku and the church have sent out over 150 church planters to establish churches throughout Ethiopia.
This last year Werku began have seizures and migraines. He came to the United States for treatment and it was discovered that he has a tumor in his brain near his sinus cavity. He needs to surgery to determine if it is benign or malignant and to try and remove it. Without medical insurance, these procedures will be very expensive. An initial deposit of $60,000 is needed by July 2 to proceed with surgery. We are seeking to raise $100,000 for surgery and aftercare. We believe that God is not finished with Werku yet but wishes to see many more church planters sent out,men and women trained for ministry, pastors encouraged, people discipled, and many more Ethiopians come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
