WELLSPRING ACADEMY - MICHIGAN'S FIRST PUBLIC RECOVERY HIGH SCHOOL
In October Wellspring announced the launch of Michigan's first public recovery high school, Wellspring Academy. It's a safe, sober and supportive school for teens in recovery. That's an important decision, too, as 100 percent of youth who return to their school of origin following addiction treatment are offered druges on their first day back.
Can you imagine how easily that could derail a person's recovery?
We know 70 percent of students who return to their school of origin following addiction treatment will relapse. That number drops to 30 percent if they attend a recovery high school instead.
As a person in recovery, it's important to connect with others who have walked that road. They know the dangers and will celebrate the victories - every day. So, we are developing a place for our students to connect with one another and with their recovery coaches. And perhaps most important, is that we are developing a place for our students to connect with their true self - the part inside them that is fighting a life that is free from addiction. They see hope in a future that is theirs to claim.
Will you consider a gift to support this place and help teens in recovery change the trajectory of their lives? One life lost is one too many.
The mission of Wellspring Academy is to provide a safe, sober and supportive academic environment where students can acheive their highlest level of educational success and personal recovery.
