I am honored to be running the Boston Marathon this year on behalf of the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF). My wife, Wizzie, and I are deeply aligned with the mission of the foundation having a daughter, Hope, in the middle school and son, Luke, at Schofield. Wizzie also works part time as a substitute teacher in the Wellesley system after giving up her full-time teaching job at Winsor when we had children. Additionally, I have taught entrepreneurship at the high school through Junior Achievement. We are also active volunteers in the community where we both coach youth sports in Wellesley and I volunteer for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
WEF thanks you for your support of the Wellesley Public Schools (WPS). Your donation empowers the amazing teachers in town through WEF's grants program that supports their innovative ideas for the classroom, professional development opportunities, and district-wide initiatives which advance WPS. Last year, WEF awarded $224,000 in grants for programs that enhanced curriculum and impacted all 10 public schools.
Due to the intense time demands of training, I haven’t run a marathon since we had children but with your support, I am confident that that I can get this vintage ’73 model chassis tuned up and ready to shine for the Boston Marathon this year.
Thanks again and hope to see you on the route,
