The AgInnovation Farm in Portsmouth is a student volunteer-run farm that aims for kids to learn about agriculture with hands-on problem-solving experiences. It will feature an outdoor classroom which in these COVID times is extremely important, enabling our kids to learn in the outdoors while keeping safe.
The land for this farm is leased by Cloverbud Ranch. AgInnovation is in need of a well and a drip-irrigation system. A water well is a hole drilled, dug, driven, bored, jetted, or otherwise constructed into an aquifer to provide access to the groundwater supply. Pictured is an example of a drip-irrigation system.
This fundraiser will help to cover the out of pocket costs to construct the well and irrigation system, which will provide water to the crops of this new innovative farm. The cost is estimated by the NRCS to cost approximately $6,000. We are reaching out to the community to help to cover half this cost. We hope to reach our goal prior to the start of the installation, which is currently 2021.
