In late 2017, wildfires plague through parts of California. These fires affected many families, forcing roughly 95 thousand people to be evacuated from their homes. In total the fires ripped through over 280 thousand acres of land, stealing over 700 homes from innocent families.
Many young Californians each year leave their families to migrate north to the Palouse, to attend school at Washington State University. This spring the Gamma Xi chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha wants to extend our hand out to those in who have been affected by the 2017 fires .
Direct Relief is a charity based out of Santa Barbara, they have been supporting the evacuees since the fires began. They continue to bring aid to families in need and helping them recover. Our goal is to raise 10 thousand dollars to donate through direct relief to help the families in need.
