As we all come to terms with the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary government orders on crowd size and social distancing, the Provincetown Film Society has temporarily closed Waters Edge Cinema.
This closure above all else reflects our commitment to the safety and health of our patrons and staff, as well as the greater Provincetown community and the vulnerable populations on the Cape.
Although temporary closure was a necessary step in our collective effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, it was an especially difficult decision given the financial impact to our outstanding team of dedicated employees who bear the immediate, direct impact of closure.
Our team are not just loyal employees, but also members of our Provincetown and Outer Cape communities and are deeply committed to the Cinema and mission of the Film Society. We want to support them through these uncertain times, but with our Cinema business coming to a complete stop, we are asking for your help. 100% of your donated funds will be used to pay our employees.
We are proud to be a year-round gathering space for the Provincetown community and our 23 year-old nonprofit organization looks forward to welcoming you all back to the movies as soon as we can.
