Washington, DC supporters of Nurturing Minds in Africa are "stepping up" and taking part in Nurturing Minds' Walk for Water, a socially distanced 3.7 mile walk, run or hike which will take place on Sunday, October 4th. Women and girls in Tanzania and across Africa walk an average of 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) a day to collect water for their families.
Our DC team will be meeting at 8:50am at the Park and Ride for the Capital Crescent Trail, near the intersection of Little Falls Parkway and Arlington Road in Bethesda, MD.
The funds we raise will help provide water for drinking, sanitation, and hygiene to over 260 students who attend the SEGA Girls' School in Morogoro, Tanzania.
Even more exciting, every dollar we raise will be matched by a supporter of Nurturing Minds - up to a total of $25,000 for the entire Walk for Water event.
