A Brighter Future
In 1984, Gene Roddenberry helped start an organization with a 'Star Trek' theme that focused on making a real world impact. The focus: Help those in need to build a brighter future. That organization: The Federation
Time warp to 2019. The Federation is a 501(c)3 charity that has helped hundreds of thousands all over the world. For over 35 years, the mission continues. Unlike other charities, The Federation devotes 100% of donations to our Humanitarian Fund to help those in need. No operating or administrative fees are deducted from donations. Those administrative and operating fees are covered by the sale of merchandise in The Federation Promenade.
Thanks to great donors like you, The Federation has been able to step up its operations, helping more and more people with each upgrade. In 2016, the Galileo Disaster Relief Shuttle was purchased, allowing loads of disaster relief supplies to be delivered through the U.S. In 2017, Pod 1 was purchased, allowing us to double the cargo capacity of those disaster relief runs.
Now it is time for another step forward. The Federation is acquiring space that will serve as a disaster relief staging area. At this location, supplies can be dropped off, stored and staged for the next run of Galileo. In addition, the space will also serve as a warehouse and shipping station for The Federation Promenade, our fundraising platform.
We hope you will help us take this next big step in making the Gene Roddenberry plan for The Federation another reality.
Update: 11/17/2019 - We've moved Galileo and Pod 1 into the cargo bay as well as the display equipment and some merchandise. So much more to go. I hope you might help us make this center for our humanitarian mission a long-term reality. We need to raise over $60,000 to own the space forever.
More photos will be posted as we continue the quest.
