3 years ago I signed up to be a foster for Secondhand Hounds. I've fostered 25+ cats and dogs, accidentally adopted 2 animals and even conned them into hiring me as their Social Media Manager. I'm wildly passionate about this organization and all of the amazing things that they do - saving 22,000+ lives, having a hospice program, a special needs neonatal program and a new vet center to name a few.
This is the second year that I'm raising money for SHH with Bark in Your Park. This year I'm going to try to teach my cat how to walk on a leash and let me dogs scream at squirrels while we walk a TBD amount of miles. Will we be succesful? Honestly I doubt Wally would let me leash train him, but Winnie and Luna are A+ at yelling like banshees at squirrels and alarming our neighbors. On a serious note I'm so proud to be involved with SHH and that I get to help promote their mission and raise money so they can keep kicking ass and saving lives.
