Help those who need it the most!
Refugee life makes social distancing, the health mantra in the West, impossible. (Unprepared for the Worst: World’s Most Vulnerable Brace for Virus / NYtimes)
Some refugee camps are 4 times denser than New York City, and the people living there are unable to wash their hands.
Refugees can't be treated because of the lack of beds, sanitation, and protective gear. By raising money we are giving them a fighting chance.
My idea is to walk as far as I can in 24 hours. My hope is to raise money though generous contributions. Hopefully you can donate the amount of your choice. Many are donating, $1: 1 mile.
Of course any amount helps, if you want to donate a flat amount you can right here!
If you want to partcipate in donating by the mile please email me so I can send you how many miles I walked on May 29 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
All the money goes to International Rescue Committee, go to rescue.org to see how they are doing it.
