Flora has been in remission, off all medications, for almost 4 years. And while that is a major milestone, it is not a cure. We know that JM can raise it's head and strike like a newly roused snake at any time. We are living each day with the awareness that she is fortunate and that others are still struggling.
The average time to remission now is about 5 years. That means many people need 10 years of medications, doctors appointments and years of their lives that they don't feel well enough to participate in what should be active and engaged lives. Yet, so many of our JM kids push through these limitations because of the support of families and Cure JM.
Our JM friends and families are the most dedicated and hardworking people I've ever met. I am continually blown away by the efforts we make to raise money and awareness for better treatments and a cure. I am convinced that Cure JM is the only organization that can lead these efforts. We are small but MIGHTY. Our goal is to raise another $10 million in the next 3 years and with our new chapters all over the country, we are on our way. Please help in whatever way you can.
