Kickstart Kids teaches character through karate. Current research on education in America shows a growing need for character development in the classroom. Kickstart Kids gives youth the tools and support they need to successfully navigate challenges they confront each day including lack of internal discipline and self-confidence, lack of positive influence, and lack of connection within the school communities so they can be successful in all aspects of life.
Martial arts world champion, actor, and philanthropist Chuck Norris founded Kickstart Kids in 1990 with the help of President George H. W. Bush. The program was launched in four schools in 1992. This year, more than 9,500 students will participate in 59 programs across the state of Texas. Since its inception 25 years ago, more than 95,000 youth have benefitted from this one-of-a-kind, life-changing program.
With your help, we can continue to teach character through karate for the next 25 years.
