To the friends and families of Vallejo Aquatic Club,
The Vallejo Aquatic Club has been serving swimmers in Vallejo since 1956, but like many other community organizations, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought new challenges to our team. During more typical years, the team’s largest source of income has been our swim meets. Not only do swim meets provide our swimmers with a chance to compete, they are also a major source of revenue. Income generated by swim meets allows us to keep our monthly fees at an affordable cost which, in turn, keeps our swimmers in the water. For the safety of our swimmers and community, large scale swim meets have been suspended during the pandemic. While the safety of our swimmers and families is always paramount, these circumstances have left Vallejo Aquatic Club with a budgetary deficit of nearly $30,000.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, Cunningham Aquatic Complex remains open and our swimmers are attending practices. The team has adopted robust practice protocols to maintain the safety of our swimmers during the pandemic. Swimming benefits our athletes’ health physically, socially, and emotionally, but we will need help to keep our swimmers in the water!
Vallejo Aquatic Club is calling on swimmers, families, and friends, both past and present, to help the team out during this difficult time. Any donation will help offset the large deficit we face and ensure the vitality of our team. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
So, if 801 Heartwood Avenue has ever been your second home... If Coach Tuffy has ever called you a “little worm”... If you have fond memories of chicken adobo and breakfast burritos... If you’ve ever trained, shaved, and tapered to achieve your goal… Please consider a generous donation to the Vallejo Aquatic Club!
