One of the most challenging parts of YogaLoka's COVID-19 response was the indefinite postponing of Gainesville's first yoga festival, YogaLokaFest. In an effort support our organization's programming and still propagate the community, celebration, and unity that is YogaLoka Fest, we are SO excited to host YogaLoka Fest ONLINE: https://www.facebook.com/events/881050549024397/
Your contributions leading up to and on May 9 will support our small but mighty team as we serve our communities most severely impacted by COVID-19's restrictions and stress. Your gifts will help us:
- Host online classes streamed through Facebook and Zoom
- Record accessible yoga videos for our Virtual Offerings web page
- Create and distribute resources on mindful movement, breathing, and meditation to our program sites like GRACE Marketplace, Peaceful Paths, Tacachale , the HONOR Center, and the Alachua County Jail
- Fund general operating costs, including staff stipends for our Program Director and Jail Program Coordinator who are leading the transition to our online model, office rent costs, and other general administrative costs.
As we navigate this new challenge of cultivating human connection in a time of physical distance, we are as grateful as ever for our community of supporters near and far. Thanks to you, we can offer wellness services to community members who will deal with the mental, physical, and economic fallout of this time for long after life returns to its normal pace.
