HOW CAN I REGISTER?
You can register as an Individual, as a Team Captain (create a Team), or as a Team Member (join a Team), by visiting the registration page.
HOW DO I CREATE A TEAM?
When registering, please select the “Create a Team” registration option or click here. Once your Team is registered on GoFundMe, a Team Registration and Fundraising Page will be automatically created for your Team. The Team Captain can send this link to each Team Member who can then create his/her own Member page. All Team Member pages will link back to the Team Page, and all proceeds will go directly to the EFMNY.
Teams should consist of at least five people. All Team Members will receive a customized t-shirt with your Team name, to be mailed out 30 days after October 18. We encourage all Teams to create banners and/or signage to carry during their own Walks, although this is not required. Please share this FAQ with your Team Members!
HOW DO I JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM?
To join an existing Team, please select the “Join a Team” registration option or and select the Team you would like to join, or click here. Once you join a Team, your Team Captain will send you a link to the Team’s Fundraising Page, from which you can create your own individual Team Member page. All proceeds raised will automatically be included in your Team’s fundraising total and will go directly to the EFMNY. If you or your Team Captain cannot locate the link to your Fundraising Page, or if have any questions, please email email@example.com.
IS REGISTRATION DONE BY JUST THE TEAM OR BY EACH OF THE NAMES ON THE TEAM?
Registration is required by each Individual name on each Team.
CAN I CREATE A FUNDRAISING PAGE WITHOUT REGISTERING?
Yes! If you would like to create a Fundraising Page for the Walk, please select the “Fundraise Only” registration option or click here. This will allow you to set up your page on GoFundMe, our official online fundraising platform; and all proceeds will go directly to the EFMNY.
Team Captains for the Fundraising Page should create a Team Page and send the link to each Team Member who can then create an individual Team Member page. All Team Member pages will link back to the Team Page, and all proceeds will go directly to the EFMNY.
WHERE DO I GO TO RECEIVE MY T-SHIRT?
All T-shirts, for Team Members or for Individuals, will be mailed out 30 days after October 18, so that allows you added time to walk and to raise more for the Epilepsy mission! Please be sure to include your mailing address, when you register.
DO I HAVE TO WALK THE ENTIRE ROUTE?
For this year's Virtual Walk, Teams and Individuals will select when and where they would like to do their walk, and we encourage doing so as near as possible to Sunday, October 18. We encourage all participants to walk at their own pace and to rest as needed.
DO I NEED TO PROVE I HAVE WALKED THE ENTIRE ROUTE?
No, there is no need to report anything, however we do encourage you to let us know about your individual experience either on-line or via social media postings. And please, photos and videos are most welcomed! Additionally, you may post anywhere via social media using #ENDEPILEPSY and #VIRTUALWalkToEndEpilepsy!
