WHY THE NAACP?
The NAACP, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, is a non profit organization. Their goal is to achieve "political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.” They do this by enacting legal measures, making sure these measures are enforced, and creating social change. They focus on aspects of the legal, education, health, media, and criminal justice systems in addition to the economic and climate problems facing people of color. We chose this organization as it encompasses a variety of problems that people of color face.

RESOURCES FOR EDUCATION:
Here is a link with resources for you to help take action.
We partnered with Positive Tracks, a national non-profit, to hold this event. Positive tracks works with young adults like us to sweat for good, to support a variety of causes. They have graciously helped us with getting started, planning, logistics, and much more. They also will be matching up to $100, that we raise. Thank you so much to them! If you want to learn more about Positive Tracks, or start an event of your own, here is the link to their website.
