The Virginia Prince William County Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association was established in 1995 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Membership is open to any graduate of the Prince William County Citizen Police Academy. The purpose of the Association is to be an interactive program between the Prince William County Police Department and the citizens it serves, as well as expanding the knowledge of the Association membership with respect to law enforcement profession.
Funds you donate to the PWCCPAAA directly support the VIrginia Prince William County police officers via events run by our Association. No funds are used for overhead expenses.
The Association has two major events each year, in addition to other support events for the Department. This request is for funds supporting the annual Tribute and Holiday Box events. The Tribute is an annual event, providing a tribute to families of fallen officers that lived or worked in Prince William County. This event normally occurs in May, near the dates for Police Week but this year's Tribute has been postponed due to the COVID-19 virus. This event is attended by leadership from local, state and national law enforcement organizations with approximately 200 in attendance. The Holiday Box event is an annual December (estimated date is listed) event, where Association members prepare a gaily wrapped box of individual snacks (i.e Slim Jim sticks, Twizzlers, small bags of pretzels or peanuts) and fruit. Each Squad is provided with a box of food, based on the officers numbers in each Squad. Last year we provided 36 boxes of food items. Each box is delivered by the Membership to each Squad, even when their shift starts at midnight.
