As someone who's gone through more than their fair share of crisis', I wish to stop others from going through what I had. Abuse, depression, poverty, homelessness, anxiety... It's enough to make an empathetic person break.
And when I told one of these stories to the wonderful people at the Contra Costa Crisis Center (my local affiliate for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline and SO MUCH MORE), the staff there nearly burst into tears. They hear stories like mine (and some worse) every day, and they go out of their way to listen and help those people in their truly darkest time. In fact, their work inspired me so much I put their logo on my jersey and told them that each year I would do one of my 24 Hour Charity Streams for them.
THIS IS THE ONE.
So, please donate to the Contra Costa Crisis Center and know that your donation does more than merely help people with suicide prevention, but also job placements for struggling families, aid, direction to state resources, and so much more.
