We are creating great educational videos about nature and local history for our families and the community of Cottage Grove, Oregon. Due to Covid 19, all our activities have gone online, and so we have to pivot to accomodate this new reality. We've started in September and October using Karen's (our Executive Director) phone. This worked as a temporary measure, but she is running out of data and the functionality isn't ideal. She needs to stay 6 feet back from interviewees, but with a phone, the sound becomes less than ideal.
Singing Creek Educational Center needs it's own GoPro video camera and a few accessories like wireless mics to create videos that really engage the viewer and inspire kids to watch and learn. Our mission is to inspire children and families toward an appreciation of local history with hands-on learning. We teach about the Oregon Trail, Lewis and Clark, pioneer settlement, and Indigenous peoples, including the aftermath of settlement and Native people's continuing efforts to reclaim their cultural ways in a changing landscape.
Our homeschool program is also open to adults and teachers who want to make it available to their students. We want everyone to be inspired and share meaningful learning. Please help us grow this vision with your donation, and see the results in our improved videos!
