Hi Friends and Family!
I recently was accepted into a competitive internship program with Saha Global.
Saha Global is a nonprofit located in Tamale, Ghana.
It brings clean water to extremely impoverished villages in Northern Ghana, where their water sources are a deep brown color, and extremely unsafe to consume. What is unique about Saha Global is the way in which they do this. They create small groups of interns that formulate teams. These teams then learn how to treat the water, they each build a business in a certain community, and then employ and train women from that community to run the business. This allows for environmental sustainability to be targeted, businesses to be created, and women to be empowered. These women gain respect in their communities and are able to earn an income by treating, cleaning, and selling this water, while simultaneously improving the overall quality of life for the village itself by access to clean water.
I will fly to Ghana for 3 weeks, wake up every morning at 5 am, travel to my assigned village, and co-create this business with my small team that will be handed off to the women of the village upon our departure... I am very excited I have been selected for this internship opportunity as I will be gaining experience in entrepreneurship, the empowerment of women in business, and NGO work, 3 fields in which i intend to build my career around upon graduating NYU.
This is where you all come in...when you are accepted into this program, you commit to raising $3,500. This cost would cover my cost of living in Ghana, and the amount needed for the start up of our company. As it is a small Non Profit, we need your donations to bring life to the work in which we are trying to do, allowing for the building of businesses in Ghana.
I very much appreciate your donation consideration. I truly believe that you will be helping me to help create a better life for those in need!
