Hi, my name is Vicki. I am honored and excited to share with you two things I truly love; helping people live their lives to the fullest, and running. While these two passions of mine might not seem aligned, they are both one in my mission and vision.
You see, it has always been my dream to run the NYC Marathon. I know this is many peoples dream and it's not easy to get in. I am a firm believer that you can accomplish anything if you put you mind to it. I run almost every morning and have been an avid runner for years. I love the freedom I feel when I run. I am also a crossing guard. I take my job very seriously since I am trusted with the safety of hundreds of kids each day. Working in this job has blessed me in being able to assist all types of children. Some of the children and young adults I meet while crossing are on the spectrum. I am inspired by their courage and determination. While life poses many unique challenges for the autistic children I see, I believe that with the right support and care they can live their lives to their fullest potential.
This is why I am so excited to partner with EJ Autism Foundation and run the NYC Marathon, not for me, but for them. Please help me raise the money needed so I can run for the individuals that I work with daily, and that mean so much to me. You have the ability to make a huge impact in the lives of these individuals.
The reason I chose the EJ Autism Foundation to partner with is because they belive in providing tools that enable people on the spectrum to be the best they can be, With the money that is raised from this campaign EJ Autism can make this vison a reality by providing IPads, IPods, and setting up sitautions and structures that allow people on the spectrum to learn how to live independently, employed and self directed. Giving them the freedom to live their lives to the fullest potential. Please donate. Every little bit counts. You have the ability to drastically improve peoples lives. Please join me in making this dream and vision a reality.
As Mother Teresa said, "Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today." Make today count, today is the day you can change a persons life.
With gratitude and love,
