What I think of Vet-to-Vet
"Each week I attend the Vet-to-Vet group meeting at the Montgomery site. I have been going for approximately one year. This is the best peer support program that I have ever been associated with as a recovering veteran. Our trained facilitators are dedicated to ensure the we get the best support as possible. They create a positive and nurturing environment to keep us on task, comfortable and involved to keep up a good maintenance program for ourselves. I enjoy sharing my experiences with other veterans that had similar ones. It is comforting to know that you are not alone with your problem. Over the past year I have gained knowledge and insight as to why I am experiencing PTSD. I know that I can keep myself focus with such a wonderful and needed support group. I think all veterans should be involved with Vet-to-Vet."
The Vet-to-Vet organization is a public 501(c)(3) non-profit that was formed to implement the concept of peer-to-peer recovery. We train and utilize veterans in the education of peer-to-peer concepts. The concept is organized into a therapeutic module, utilizing approved materials facilitated by trained Peer Facilitators in group settings. The uniqueness of this program is the participants and Facilitators have similar experiences that lead to respect, understanding, trust, and a total commitment to each other. By addressing the traumatic issues of the veterans, it allows the veterans to reconnect to his/her family, community, environment, and themselves.
Your monetary contributions will be used to help pay Vet to Vet’s office rental, telephone, internet, web services, consultant/administrative costs, volunteer/facilitators mileage to and from sessions, and training as needed. Your contributions will also allow Vet to Vet to address the shortfalls in the advertising/marketing aspect of the corporation, to further our name and service recognition. Vet to Vet thanks everyone for taking an interest in the service we provide to our deserving veterans.
