Hello and thank you for stopping by to visit our page. Our VFW is located in Burbank, CA. and is only 1 of 3 remaining "Ships" under the VFW umbrella. The USS Gudgeon (211) was a WW2 submarine deployed from Pearl Harbor. "It was the first American submarine to sink an enemy warship in World War II (Pacific, 27/1/42). One of the long-range Tambor-class vessels, Gudgeon scored 14 confirmed kills, placing her 15th on the honor roll of American submarines. She was declared overdue, presumed lost, on 7 June 1944." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Gudgeon_(SS-211)
We are collecting donations to help our US military veterans who require a little help with provisions, transportation, or assistance. We have members from every branch and engagement/war from WW2, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Mogadishu, Bosnia, Syria, and future conflicts across the globe.
During these difficult times. We are fundraising to help provide food, clothing, toiletries, a bus ticket home, a warm dry bed and shower for a night, or a debit card to help pay a bill. Every bit helps, so please give whatever you would like to contribute. A $40 donation will enroll you into our VFW Booster club and allows you to visit our location without having to get shot at in inhospitable territories.
Veterans have taken care of you, your family, friends, and freedom during the toughest times in American history. We continue to serve our community proudly by identifying issues and giving back to those in need. We provide scholarships for our graduating seniors, transportation to medical offices for our veterans who are unable to drive. We plan community events and help feed, shelter, and cloth both Veterans and non-veterans in need. The VFW also sponsors youth sports and engages the community with opportunities to clean up graffiti, trash, and recycling programs in our community.
Please pass this along to family, friends, veterans, and other contacts you feel might can lend a hand. I know times are tough for everyone, and you might be in the same situation. If so, we understand and pray that you are okay and healthy. If you can help please donate, but if you can't please share this fundraiser via social media. This helps them, this helps the cause, let's stand together and help those who have risked it all for our benefit.
