Have you ever heard of a professional Plant-Based competition where meat is excluded and plant proteins embranced? The ANF is launching the first one and needs your help to acheive its goal. American Natural Foods is a 501c3 non-profit organization that originated in 1996 out of a quest for a Gold Medal at the International Culinary Olympics - USING ONLY PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS! After achieving that goal(!), we shifted our focus to furthering the cause of plant-based cuisine in numerous non-profit ventures with professional chefs and those inspired to learn the cuisine’s essentials.
Every year, the American Culinary Federation (ACF) hosts culinary competitions to raise the standards of culinary excellence and allow chefs to hone their craft by putting their skills and knowledge to the test in a competitive format. The ANF has decided to rewrite the competition rules modifying the ACF's existing rules, to create the FIRST professional hot foods competition (one hour to produce 4 dinners for judges to taste and evaluate) with a focus on PLANT-BASED PROTEINS, especially pulses and the ancient proteins.
Through this competition, the ANF will create a new standard for professional vegan culinary competitions, which will undoubtedly lead to innovations and higher standards for Plant-Based cuisine in foodservice operations and eventually homes. Your donation will be used to help us fund the operations for the event, including rewriting the rules, designing and producing medals, promoting the competition to chefs, renting the kitchen competition facility, and hiring three professional judges to judge the competition. these plant-based compeitions will eventually take place on a national scale in culinary schools and be self-funded.
