We're the Vavricka sisters and if you know us, you know we love glamshotting all over the world (Beijing, Tokyo, and NYC glamshots evidenced above). Unfortunately, we often need to put our glamshots on pause to fight and raise awareness about one of the least glamorous things in our lives - endometriosis (aka endo).
Endo is a disease that affects around one/ten women in the US and 176 million worldwide. It is mostly unrecognizable, misdiagnosed, and mistreated and many women go decades without a diagnosis due to doctors misreading their symptoms or very often not taking their symptoms seriously. Endo occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium), is found in regions outside of the uterus, in other words, where the tissue should not be. Currently, the cause of endo is not known and treatments are limited and often ineffective and extremely painful.
Given the impact this disease has on all Endo Warriors (we call them that because that's what they are), we wanted to dedicate our birthdays to this incredibly important cause.
Please help us raise awareness and much needed funds for the Endometriosis Foundation of America, an amazing organization supporting the many women (and their cheerleaders) who are affected by endometriosis every day.
