To kick-off the spring lacrosse season the Colorado lacrosse community has rallied together for the past five years to support Denver City Lax which provides all programming to kids and families at no cost. That’s why the Dash is so important!
Denver City Lax is a nonprofit growing the game of lacrosse in underserved neighborhoods and using the sport as a platform to assist at-risk youth in finding success on the field and in the classroom.
Lacrosse is the entry point to the organization’s youth development program. Hundreds of elementary and middle school metro area boys and girls join youth teams focused on promoting education and life skills development. In addition to lacrosse, kids can earn the opportunities to attend leadership camps, get academic assistance, take college visits, challenge themselves through outdoor adventure experiences and grow through a variety of other enrichment activities and individual mentoring.
Teams and schools from throughout the state have been gracious in their support, and in a few short years driven the Dash to becoming one of the leading, if not most successful, youth and high school based fundraising events in Colorado.
What’s the benefit for everyone? The Dash not only gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself through training and running, and your team to take part in a group bonding activity to begin the competitive season, but the chance to make a difference and change lives. Kids that would not have access to the sport are given the opportunity by Denver City Lax to be part of a team, learn a new activity and grow as individuals.
Be part of making great stories happen!
