Valley of the Kings has been a safe haven to many wonderful exotics and farm animals for the past 47 years. In the last 4 years, we have expanded our enclosures to include housing/shelter for 7 additional bears, 4 wolves/wolf hybrids , 5 foxes, raccoon(s), a tortoise, and an aviary for peacocks. This expansion has caused a very serious strain on our existing electrical lines causing constant tripping of our outlets & loss of power. The electrical is especially taxed in the winter when we have heated water buckets and heat lamps.
We are raising money to install a new line that will run from the road through the property to the upper compound next to these newer enclosures. The majority of the cost incurred is via the electric company, the equipment, posts, outlets. We plan on having experienced volunteers/electricians doing as much of the hook up as possible.
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all of us in a variety of ways. The impending meat shortages, with only being able to buy one package of meat per visit, when we have so many big cats to feed. Our memberships, donations are down because we have temporarily closed the sanctuary to follow Safe at Home guidelines as well as protecting our workers, volunteers, and animals.
This fundraiser and its success will help us realize a dream in updating our facility with an additional electrical line and providing the animals with the utmost care this update will provide.
Thank you for supporting VOTK and helping us provide a better life for all our amazing animals.
