The mission of The Retreat Teen Leadership Project is to prevent abuse and promote respect in all relationships. The Project supports The Retreat and helps expand its focus to include the prevention of all sorts of relationship abuse, including bullying and harassment, sexual assault, and teen dating violence.
The Project is an opportunity for teens on the East End to work together while learning about violence prevention and promoting respect and safety in the community. We foster awareness about the dynamics of all relationships, from abusive to healthy, and teach students about safe and effective intervention strategies. We help them learn how to prevent unhealthy situations through fun and meaningful activities. We partner with teens, not just to train them, but to learn from them in developing programming that is responsive to the needs and concerns of young people.
Be a part of the solution by spreading awareness of what a healthy relationship should be. When you support The Retreat, you support educating our community about intimate partner violence, counseling for those who have been in violent relationships, advocacy for those in need of assistance, and safe housing for those who have no where else to go. We are all a part of the same community, help us to make it one that is free from violence.
