Raised by a single mom, Victory 4 Youth founder Dean Johnson, often reflects on how difficult Christmas could be for his mom. One year, when his mom did not have anything to give, spent the entire night wrapping empty boxes and toys he already had, just so he and his brother would have something to open.
In 2007, Victory 4 Youth founder, Dean Johnson, held the first Christmas Toy Drive. Starbucks and the CHP collected toys, and on Christmas Eve, he went into low-income housing areas where he was able to surprise unsuspecting parents in parking lots and gas stations, handing them a bag and letting them shop from the back of his car.
So what makes this toy drive different from other organizations - there is no planned give away, no way for people to register, and therefore no way for people to take advantage of the season of giving. Dean goes out throughout the region on Christmas Eve, bringing hope to others.
