This fund was established by a group of concerned Connecticut residents who want to support the urgent needs facing our state’s essential workers – PPE, masks, gloves and other essential protective equipment. Right now, there are essential workers in Connecticut using trash bags for gowns, re-using masks for days on end, and they need our urgent help.
These workers are literally putting their life on the line, often working in the jobs we don’t see, but are crucial to the operation of our state during this crisis. They need our help.
Through this short-term effort, we are raising funds to purchase essential supplies for essential workers. The United Way of Coastal Fairfield County is partnering in this effort to help raise the funds and purchase the equipment, and absorbing all fees and costs, so that 100% of every dollar donated can go directly to the purchasing of this equipment. Our goal is to have it on the ground, in the hands of essential workers across the state in early May.
Nursing homes, home health care workers, people manning the counters at rest stops – some of our most vulnerable, essential workers are there for us now, so we’re joining together to be there for them.
Click the link (above right) to donate and make your gift to provide essential supplies to our essential workers, today. And if you know of anyone who can help secure PPE, please contact United Way of Coastal Fairfield County CEO Jeff Kimball at email@example.com
SEIU 1199 and SEIU 32BJ will be partnering to distribute the PPE across the state to those union and non-union workers who need it most.
Thank you for standing up for our essential workers.
