In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Karolina is 5 years old and has cerebral palsy. Her parents say she is sweet, kind and a fighter!
She urgently needs surgery on a dislocated hip. She is in a lot of pain, there is no time to waste!
"Without help we we can’t afford this surgery. I'm sitting here and don't understand how to handle all these bills - for the implant, the plate and the consumables needed for the surgery. And our baby is in pain. It is not only painful for her to work out on exercise therapy, but simply to lie. Our girl needs this surgery so she can live without pain."
Please help us reach our goal for Karolina!
