Lin Johsnon is a single self supporting missionary in Kisumu, Kenya. Lin was admitted to the hospital in Kisumu on July 7 with a leg wound and diagnosed as having NECROTIZING FACITIS In the space of a few days Lin received strong antibotics by IV , undergone 3 surgeries to clean the wound and remove the infection and dead flesh going down to the bone. Today, 7/16/2020 the surgeon put a vaccum treatment on the wound to help it heal. Because of the high medical costs already inncurred Lin has been discharged from the hospital into the care of other missionary friends in their home. Another missionary friend is a nurse and comes to take care of the IV and will maintain the vaccum as needed.
The doctor and surgeon are very concerned with Lin's condition and are doing everything they can to save her leg. Today, her other leg is showing signs of the infection which is even more troubling.
Our small missionary community in Kisumu has been able to raise enough money for her medical bills to cover the hospital and 1st surgery and much more is needed. Funds for the last 2 surgeries, any future surgeries including a skin graft, doctor visits, IV antibotics and other meds is urgently needed. In Kenya, no medical services are performed unless paid up front. The hospial was generous to discharge Lin still owing a bill.
Funds are needed ASAP for Lin to continue to receive the medical treatment she desperately needs to save her leg and prevent the NECROTIZING FACITIS from moving to her other leg and the rest of her body.
Lin is self supporting meaning she receives no salary, stipend or donations for her personal needs. Lin relies only on a small pension for her needs. Lin has given the last 13 years to training over 39 at risk youth, women and men in a bakery so they will be able to support themselves and their families. Her training bakery is self supporting from the sales of the bakery products made by the trainees. Her ministry has had 2 World Bank projects and has schools, government offices among others as clients. In addition, Lin has worked with Free Kenya and an organiztion assisting those who are HIV postive and helping 350 needy students find scholorships.
Lin is a very special lady who has made a difference in Kisumu, Kenya. Please help her with these medical expenses so she can continue to be able to make a difference in Kenya.
