Help us fight the COVID-19 pandemic by empowering America’s largest generation
Older Generation Z, or 15-to-23 year-olds, are uniquely vulnerable to misinformation and the social, economic, and health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they have incredible potential to protect and support not only their families but also their communities. We are engaging passionate young people and experts in public health and communication to extend a “Social Media and Public Education Campaign to Reach and Engage 15-to-23-Year-Olds Starting in Connecticut, then Nationwide.”
This effort is critical to mitigate the effects of misinformation, social isolation, economic instability, group-think, panic, and drastic lifestyle disruption on the most vulnerable young people in the US. The campaign is also critical to inspire and mobilize this population to help others safely in the coming weeks and months.
How will we make this work:
We have assembled an incredible team: experts in the field of infectious disease, a network of experienced youth organizers, and a powerful collection of teachers and communication industry leaders. This group has worked hundreds of pro bono hours so the Social Media and Public Education Campaign to Reach and Engage 15-to-23-Year-Olds is starting in Connecticut the week of March 23. We need your help to sustain and expand the campaign.
Our plan is near complete. We invite you to read our Open Letter, which details the challenge and our solution; lists how Generation Z can help your community; and explains why Connecticut first.
How you can help:
This is about us. We urge you to join immediately. We ask that you give generously. The health of our state, and our nation, is depending on you.
