RIDING FOR A REASON
So many people ask me why do I ride so many miles and put my body through what I do in order to accomplish an endurance event and the simple answer is: I have a REASON too!
There are so many terrible diseases that affect millions of Americans every day. There’s Diabetes, there’s blood cancers like Leukemia or Lymphoma, Breast Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis and so many more. I bet that you know or knew someone who had one of these diseases, maybe a loved one or maybe someone who has served their country and who either has lost a limb or has been seriously injured.
One of the issues with a cycling event is that not everyone has bicycle. This is where Uphill Into the Wind comes in, because they loan road bikes to people who want to raise money and ride in one of these events. All at no charge for the participant.
Over the last 9 years, Uphill into the Wind has put hundreds of riders on bicycles and those riders have raised just under $500,000.00 for 25 different charities. But best of all most of them continue riding and raising money to help their causes, which we can’t tally here.
Please help by making a donation - large or small - to support the work that Uphill Into the Wind does and continue their cause of putting “Bodies On Bikes”. So, more riders can raise thousands of dollars for charities that are finding cures to these terrible diseases and charities that are helping our service men and women when they have been seriously injured.
Whatever you can give will help! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.
