2020 has been quite a year for everyone. Here at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago, we had to close the doors to our historic building right before one of our biggest fundraising times of the year – St. Patrick’s Day. Since March, we have remained closed to the public, and like many organizations, we are squeaking by.
However, as we approach 2021 with our doors still shut, we turn to the public for support so that we do not have to close forever.
- A $25 donation helps us send emails to keep our community informed.
- A $50 donation covers part of the cost to keep our sidewalks clear for our neighbors this winter.
- A $100 donation pays for one of our virtual lectures or performances.
- A $250 donation helps with the utility bills during the coming cold months (yes, we still have to pay for utilities even though the building is closed).
Our programs share Irish heritage with the community through music, literature, drama, traditional dancing, fine arts, and Irish language lessons.
If you have not already done so, check out our Facebook Live programs such as local Irish trad super-group STEAM, the Trinity Irish Dancers, and the Shannon Rovers, as well as Irish music performances from around the world.
Even though we have shared some of our programs online, our building is our home, and we need your help to keep the Irish American Heritage Center going.
Please consider donating to the Irish American Heritage Center this holiday season.
Warmest holiday season, and Nollaig Shona Duit.
