The University of Alabama Wheelchair Basketball is home to men's and women's collegiate wheelchair basketball teams. Student-athletes in wheelchair basketball at the University of Alabama compete intercollegiately with 18 other college teams in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA). Since the founding of the program in 2003, the teams have brought home seven national championships for the Crimson Tide and dozens have gone on to represent their countries in the Paralympic Games. Thanks to athletic and academic scholarships, our teams come to represent the Crimson Tide from over 10 different countries over the past 12 years, and over 30 of our current student-athletes and alumni have represented their countries in the Paralympic Games. The University of Alabama is home to Stran-Hardin Arena, the only collegiate adapted athletics arena in the country. This year we're looking to purchase three new basketball chairs for our men's and women's teams, which is approximately $3,300 for a chair custom fit to each athlete's body. We hope to raise the $10,000 for these three new chairs through our Mercedes Marathon-University of Alabama Wheelchair Basketball team. Thanks for considering joining us, and ROLL TIDE!!
