United Rescue Jersey City was founded to create a community of trained and equipped volunteer first responders—Community Based Emergency Caregivers (CBECs)—from every segment of the city, all devoted to helping their neighbors immediately, in their most vulnerable moments. While Americans in most cities need to wait 8-12 minutes for an ambulance, help could be next door. This means that victims of heart attacks, strokes, choking and bleeding— those for whom the difference between life and death will be settled long before the ambulance arrives—have a greater chance at life if a trained medic can get to them fast.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program was temporarily suspended, but the volunteers have been cleared for active duty and are ready to get back to responding to emergencies and saving lives.
But - before they can return to active duty we must equip them with Personal Protective Equipment so they can stay safe while responding. Each kit is disposable, costs $20, and includes the following:
N95 or KN95 masks
Goggles or protective Eyewear
Various size gloves
Sanitizing wipes and liquid sanitizer
Donate 10 kits - $200
Donate 25 kits - $500
Donate 100 kits - $2,000
We need YOUR help to continue this incredible program. United Rescue is fully funded by philanthropic support, which covers the cost of training new volunteers and purchasing medical equipment. Yoni is one of the hundreds of CBECs that have been trained by United Rescue, and you can help save lives by helping us continue to train and equip these amazing volunteers.
