On March 15th, runners will take to the streets of New York City on behalf of United Airlines' "United for Veterans." This team of runners, made up of veterans, civilians, employees, and customers will join a field of more than 22,000 runners as we run to raise money for the USO in support of our nation's heros and in service to our New York City & Newark community.
About "United for Veterans"
United for Veterans (U4V) is a Business Resource Group made up entirely of volunteers within United Airlines. U4V members work to support veterans both within the organization and through outreach, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns in the communities we serve. We are excited to kickoff 2019 with our second annual fundraising team taking part in the 2019 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon as we race and raise money for the USO. The USO of NYC operates a center for veterans and service members at United's NYC hub - Newark Liberty International Airport. All funds raised from this campaign go directly to the USO and will further our mission to support service members and veterans in the communities we serve.
About the USO
Since 1941, the United Service Organizations has stood by our troops through every step of their service. From deployment to rehabilitation and reintegration, we're there for soldiers and their families. The USO strengthens America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. Over time, the USO has become the vital bridge between Americans and their military service members. At hundreds of locations worldwide, we are united in our commitment to connect our service members and their families through countless acts of caring, comfort and support. The USO is a private, nonprofit organization, not a government agency. Our programs, services and entertainment tours are made possible by the American people, support of our corporate partners and the dedication of our volunteers and staff.
