On July 4th, before the fireworks and weather permitting, the Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing will be in the air celebrating the spirit of the American Neighbor by performing flyovers in formation over neighborhoods in Central Texas. Our effort is part of a nationwide event sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force.
COVID-19 has changed many things in our country. While many of these changes have been difficult, the reemergence of the bond between neighbors is one we hope survives once we return back to normal.
Make your neighborhood a recipient of a Warbird Flyover on Independence Day. Click "Start a Team" to start a neighborhood team. The top 30 teams or indviduals in Central Texas raising at least $500 will have us directly overhead on the Fourth.
Neighborhoods within 25 miles of I-35 between Austin and San Antonio are eligible. If you have questions, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. For qualifying neighborhoods, we'll contact you on July 1 to finalize the flyover details.
We realize not everyone will be able to make a donation - so if your neighborhood is coming up short, post a video on facebook letting us know why a flyover for your neighborhood would make a difference. Tag our page (https://www.facebook.com/centraltexaswing). If we select your video for inclusion in our page, your neighborhood gets a flyover, too! We will select at least five neighborhoods from our video contest!
There is nothing quite like the sound of four or more World War II era aircraft flying overhead. Make your block party memorable on this Fourth of July while helping our organization to continue keep the lessons of history alive for current and future generations despite the headwinds of COVID-19.
The organizer of any team to reach the $1000 mark will receive a certificate for a 30 minute ride in a World War II era T-6 Texan!
