According to UNICEF, thousands of children under the age of 5 die every day because they lack proper nutrition, safe drinking water, affordable vaccines and other basic necessities that most people may take for granted. UNICEF's lifesaving interventions and programs around the world have helped reduce the number of child deaths by more than 50% since 1990, and yet 15,000 children die every day from preventable causes. There is still a lot of work to do. Support Sacred Heart University's UNICEF Campus Initiative in our efforts to take a stand against global child mortality.
