Later this month, I’m participating in this fantastic fund raiser to prevent kids from drowning.
Every day, about ten (10) people die from unintentional drowning. And of those ten, two (2) are children, aged 14 or younger.
On August 24th, the Boys and Girls Club is hosting Swim 24Challenge; an amazing experience where teams of up to 12 people swim a 24-hour relay to raise money to combat childhood drowning by supporting the Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego.
Often, I think about my happy childhood summers, where I spent hours upon hours, at the local community pools and having fun in the ocean. And that was all possible because my parents, had the means and were wise enough to get me swim lessons when I was four years old.
I truly think this is a wonderful cause. And because of my rookie status on a team that’s been doing it for years, I’ll be probably be one of the ones swimming at 2am, 3am or 4am in the morning!!
I really appreciate your support and thank you in advance for your kindness and compassion for this fantastic event.
